Customs formalities for India
Required documents
When sending a parcel from Switzerland to India, please enclose the proforma invoice that is automatically generated by Expedismart. When sending a new product, you have just purchased, the proforma invoice is not the receipt you received from the shop. The proforma invoice is used to inform customs about the contents of your package. If you resell the goods after they arrive in the country, the shipment must be accompanied by a commercial invoice, which can also be created automatically on Expedismart. For high value goods, we advise you to take out insurance. The cost of insurance is 1% of the declared value of the goods. If desired, you can take out this insurance directly when preparing the shipment. Expedismart has a partnership with the insurance company AXA Winterthur.

Delivery of goods in India?
Customs tariffs
Import duties in the country of destination are based on the local goods and services tax and the standard VAT of 18% or 12% in India. Furthermore, they depend on the type of shipment and its declared value. However, the Indian government charges a customs handling fee of 1% on all imports in addition to the calculated import duties. Please note that for some goods, Indian customs levy even higher duties, so do not hesitate to contact us before sending.

Some goods are not permitted for import into India.
