How to send a package to Hong Kong?
The essential documents

During an international shipment, International parcel carriers handle all requests at the relevant Customs. As a sender, you just need to provide the selected carrier, Dhl, FedEx, Ups Tnt, Aramex, the waybill you get at the end of your booking on the Expedismart.ch website, as well as a Pro forma invoice.

The Pro-forma invoice or commercial invoice is a document provided by the carrier giving a certain number of mandatory information to declare a commodity as soon as it is imported into the country of destination.

Essential information to put in your commercial invoice or Pro-forma for a shipment:

  •  Sender (address in Switzerland)
  •  Recipient (address in Hong Kong )
  •  Company: enter their EORI number (customs identification number in EU equivalent of our VAT number)
  •  Overall description of the goods
  •  Number of packages, number of pieces
  •  Unit value of the goods, and total value
  •  Currency (EUR, CHF, USD, GBP, etc.)
  •  Date, signature
  • Important! Like all customs invoices, it must be written in English or in the language of the country of destination (chinese).

  •  Proforma document

Chocolate:

  • UPS: Do not ship chocolate
  • TNT: Do not ship chocolate.

A computer:

  • FedEx: If the computer contains a battery, the shipper must have a dangerous materials declaration, a Pro-forma invoice and a packing slip.
  • UPS: An original invoice and two copies are required, the maximum weight allowed is 70Kgs
  • TNT: The recipient will be taxed at customs and VAT on the value of the goods declared.

Moving belongings:

  • FedEx: The moving effects must be imported by the recipient. He must present a Pro-forma invoice with the origin and the reason of the sending. Customs fees and VAT on arrival possible
  • UPS: Do not ship any personal belongings.
  • TNT: The recipient will be taxed at customs and VAT on the value of the goods declared.

Keys (personal belonging):

  • FedEx: A Pro-forma invoice is to be provided. It is possible that duties and taxes are charged to the recipient upon receiving the goods.
  • UPS: Do not ship any personal belongings

Furniture:

Suitcase:
