Customs formalities for Morocco
Required documents
To send a parcel from Switzerland to Morocco, please attach the proforma invoice generated by Expedismart.ch, but you can also attach your own invoice when booking online. When shipping a new product that you have just bought, the proforma invoice is not the receipt of purchase that you receive in the shop. The pro forma invoice is used, to inform customs of the exact contents of your package and its value. If the goods have been purchased by the recipient or are to be resold after arrival in the country, the shipment must be accompanied by a commercial invoice, which can also be created on Expedismart.ch. For valuable goods, it is advisable to take out insurance. The cost of insurance is 1% of the value of the goods. You can take out the insurance directly with our partner company AXA Winterthur when preparing the shipment.

Import duties in Morocco are based on the local goods and services tax and the standard VAT of 20% or the reduced VAT of 14%, 10% and 7%. These depend on the type of shipment, its declared value and origin.
We strongly recommend declaring all goods on the proforma/trade document. Additionally, make sure to include the consignee’s email address and phone number on your proforma invoice. It is common for Customs to contact the consignee to obtain details of the contents of the parcel.
A limited number of goods are prohibited from the import into Morocco.
Do not send prohibited goods to Morocco. The following overview may vary depending on the shipping company (FedEx, DHL, UPS, TNT, or Aramex). Blocking fees and the return of the goods will be at your expense.
